After sweltering heat, the weather has started to emulate England, our weather app says to expect rain. So we change today’s plan from Bolzano to a revisit to the Lake Garda district of Desenzano del Garda.
Having mastered the trains, we find it easy enough to arrive and go in search of the picturesque views.
Unfortunately the weather had other plans. As the winds take over, and the rain starts we find our umbrellas can’t take the strain, however it was great fun to try.

After a very funny episode of ‘Brits can take a bit of wind and rain in their stride’, we find a little bar and install ourselves for more hydration and people watching.

My idea is we should invest in the rather chic clothing called plastic ponchos. NYB-P wasn’t too keen until he say the benefits of looking like a ‘rain tubby’ apply names by Rabbi T who I shared our antics with.

We decided to stay put for a while, mainly as the weather wasn’t letting up for the foreseeable. Instead we find another little champagne bar and make friends with the two ladies, who did not mind helping us model our ponchos.

I think today might have been wet, windy and a whole lot of fun. As I always say, “we are always lucky with the weather”.
